Pro Basketball Player & Hampton, VA Native Ricardo Ratcliffe Becomes Naturalized In S. Korea

Hampton, VA native, Ricardo Ratcliffe, is a professional basketball player currently making big noise in South Korea. The University Of Missouri graduate is considered the best center in the Korean Basketball League as a player for the Seoul Samsung Thunders. Ratcliffe is a huge star in the country and rumors of him actually becoming an official citizen of the country started growing last year.

Now, the official news has broken and Ricardo is a naturalized citizen (first to do so) in the country of S. Korea saying this in appreciation of his granted Korean citizenship at a press conference in Seoul. "I'm just honored [to be eligible to join the Korean national team]," he said. "I'll try to help South Korea be a better team." Aside from this great honor, he has been named as a player on the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup roster in China. Moving forward, he plans to start using his Korean name, Ra Gun-ah (Robust Man), soon.
