Spotlight: Meet Meexhii Japan, BK's Rising Rap Act

With the recent success of Desiigner, Casanova, and Gashi, the new school of Brooklyn rap is in great hands. Looking to join the discussion and make a name for his self is Meexhii Japan.

Born Demettrius Wright, the emerging talent was raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant, the tatted up recording artist begin exercising his creative muscle at the early age of 8 in the form of poetry. Prior to jumping into music full time he attended Gotham Academy High School, studied Capoeira in Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), and received a certification in photography from The Studio Museum of Harlem.

Building off the buzz garnered from his fan favorite EP ‘Kode Red,’ which was released via JackBando Productions, Japan is currently pushing his latest singles “Basic” and “Big Booty.” Long live the “Stoop Babies.” #1MillionBarz
